Today was a getting-ready-for-college day! I did some last-minute dorm shopping, packed, and updated my blog layout - what do you think? I like the word "hippie," and I love that font, so I figured I'd give it a try as a header. Interestingly enough, the little rug I bought for my dorm room today is the same color as the blog is now.
I also found a cool article on how to go green in dorm rooms. Of course, a lot of the ideas they had would have been better read before I did all my shopping - for example, buying used and organic.
On the other hand, a lot of the things they suggested were things I was already doing: Reusing things I already had, buying used books or renting textbooks, using a reusable water bottle instead of disposable plastic ones, and keeping plants in the dorm room instead of using air fresheners. So I suppose when it comes to green dorm rooms so far I've more or less broken even: Nothing super-impressive, but nothing awful, either.

I thought the most important part of a dorm room was the posters you put on the wall :)
Like the new look, btw.
Oh! Oh! If you ever happen to need any help with the plants (identity, care, troubleshooting/tech support, recommendations for additional plants), stop by my blog and ask; indoor plants is kind of the main thing I do.
Just throwing that out there because I've been following you for a while and thought I detected a chance to feel useful.
Foxie: It's true~! I have a bunch of drawings and things my friends have done for me, and a set of Firefly posters; it should be quite awesome.
Mr. Subjective: Thank you! I've stopped by your blog before, and definitely might end up needing help... I've never grown anything before, haha. Should be fun!
Love the new look! I'll be coming home tomorrow with a gift poster for you that I think you'll like.
Hippyish in Steampunk-ish print. Very nice, kind hostess.
So you start Monday? I hope you adjust well to the new environment and set of responsibilities!
While a snazzy font and a snazzy word, the two don't quite match. That font needs a circus style title.

Hee, you're right, they don't match at all... but there could be hippy circuses, surely? (I just thought the font was pretty, lol.)
Don't worry about it, spiffy. You don't strike me as a person who is obsessed with being considered normal ;D.
