RIP Eric Borges

Eric Borges was a Trevor Project intern. He'd been rejected by his family, but was active in the California LGBT community. He killed himself earlier this week.

This is the second recent story I've seen where someone who made an "It Gets Better" video eventually committed suicide. I know that being on YouTube isn't code for having it all together, and I know that suicide is much, much more complicated than just the difficulties of being queer. But still, it seems particularly sad, when someone who spent his time helping LGBT youth through difficult times couldn't see a way out himself. My heart goes out to his friends, family and community.
